Should Made Open Tasmania have its own Facebook page and blogs?

Should we have our own network in Tasmania for sharing information and stories and / or should we contribute to the international page / conversation?

Peter - Should we have a Linked In page or would that be surplus to requirements?

Lyndaj - If Made Open works to potential it is a Facebook page, blog and a linked in!

woolfinioz - I think you perhaps should, since it is where you already have a large customer base using it I assume? Made Open has been designed to integrate with mainstream social media.

lindaseaborn - I think the first question is, who does Made open Tasmania want to communicate with, and about what? The answers to that determines what communication mediums are used ... Facebook is great for promoting events, sharing news and building up connections with 'the community'. LinkedIn is good for building up professional networks, and therefore drawing in people with potential skills and ideas to offer, who may not even live locally. A blog is good for generating 'content', which can then be shared on fb and LinkedIn, and as a 'repository' of information. A blog is also more work, as it requires the writing to generate the content. And is accessbiel to people who are not on fb or LinkedIn - if such people indeed still exist :-)

Katherinebrooks - It could be a good idea as that is the most way to much information is gotten out to the community

susanclarrett - Certainly useful for promoting certain projects and discussion that happen on here to a wider audience
